Project Description

For most Americans, completing an education is the single most effective means for overcoming poverty. Without education, those who struggle in a life of poverty are doomed to remain there. Because children in Hamilton County's rural and inner city neighborhoods grow up in communities burdened with high crime; health risks, bleak economic outlooks, and low educational attainment, we must take action to help them succeed. Lights On! III Centers will help children overcome these obstacles by emphasizing five areas of focus 1) strengthening families, 2) improving parents' capacity to earn income 3) demonstrating the value of education to children, 4) providing a safe haven for children 5) guiding the healthy development of children.
