Project Description

14 weeks of different L & C classes running from July-May, had many different instructors teaching summer school programs, and tutoring programs. Instructors, ranging in age from 16-72 attend a weeklong training, where they are taught how to effectively teach our L & C curriculum. We emphasize experiential learning, community involvement and cross-cultural contributions and integration. Our L & C curriculum is an extension from the classroom curriculum and offers students more hands-on approach, focusing on math, reading, and English while involving what L & C encountered on the Expedition. Many of our instructors for the program are actual teachers in our school district; therefore, our coordinators are in contact with them daily about students, the program, and curriculum. The classroom teachers and coordinators are always communicating about the changing needs of the students on a day-to-day basis.
