The Graduation for All Act, H. R. 547 and Improving Adolescent Literacy Initiative
This bill focuses on reversing the trend of high dropout rates for adolescent students. This legislation focuses particularly on high-needs schools. Provisions include literacy coaches, revamping of curriculum to include research-based reading and writing instruction, research-based ELL instruction where applicable as well as incorporation of reading and writing instruction into all curricular areas, and the individualized graduation plans for students most at risk.
