Comprehensive Centers: Adding Value
to the Work of State Education Agencies

On September 11-12, 2006, the U.S. Department of Education hosted its second annual meeting titled Comprehensive Centers: Adding Value to the Work of State Education Agencies. The meeting took place in Washington, D.C., and was attended by the directors and key staff from the 16 Regional Comprehensive Centers and the five Content Comprehensive Centers.

The general sessions were designed to help increase knowledge around No Child Left Behind (NCLB), while the content-specific sessions built upon the emphasis of NCLB and gave participants examples of current work from around the nation. These content specific sessions allowed participant the chance to see the current work under way in other centers, but it also provided an opportunity to see where collaboration between the Regional Centers and Content Centers could evolve for upcoming work.
