Through its subsidiary, the North Central Regional Educational Laboratory (NCREL®), Learning Point Associates actively engages in research and development activities that produce a variety of education products and services based on current research and promising practices. With nearly 25,000 public and private schools in its region, NCREL has served close to one fifth of the nation's teachers and students for nearly 20 years. NCREL is one of 10 Regional Educational Laboratories funded by the U.S. Department of Education, Institute for Educational Sciences (IES). Founded in 1984 by the Chief State School Officers and deans of education in the Midwest, NCREL serves the seven-state region of Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, and Wisconsin.
