REL Midwest Key Staff
Matt Dawson, Ph.D., was named REL Midwest director in 2008. He previously served as deputy director, overseeing the development and delivery of large–scale randomized controlled trials and short–term research projects. His areas of expertise include quantitative research design, educational technology, and survey and assessment development. Dr. Dawson holds degrees from Yale University, University of Georgia, and The Ohio State University. He has been with Learning Point Associates since 2002.

W. Christopher Brandt, Ph.D., is a senior research associate with expertise in research and evaluation methods, school reform, and data use. He is project manager for a three-year IES-funded randomized controlled trial investigating the impact of a computer adaptive assessment system on teacher practice and student achievement. Dr. Brandt is especially experienced in case study methods and evaluating district reform efforts. He holds a doctorate in educational psychology from the University of Georgia and has been with Learning Point Associates since 2004.
