Connecting Research to Practice: Research to Action Forum on Competency-based Education
Des Moines, IA
The REL Midwest in partnership with the Iowa Department of Education provided a full-day conference on competency-based education. This event brought together state leaders, practicing teachers, principals and superintendents, state legislators, representatives from the governor’s office, higher education, business leaders, and other stakeholders to examine research on competency-based education, to connect with practitioners implementing competency-based education reforms, and to consider how best to evaluate the impact of these reforms. Featured presenters included Richard Voorhees, Susan Patrick, Paul Leather, Jim Lindsay, and Iowa Department of Education Director Jason Glass.
