Project Description

Dee Elementary and Lewis Elementary are the two sites for the 21st Century Community Learning Centers. The CCLC Program goal is to increase school and life outcomes for the students by providing a variety of quality educational, enrichment and recreational activities and support services for students and families in a safe, supportive and structured environment. Each school provides daily after-school services. Each school is in the process of developing a rubric for each student to determine the student's status on mastery in reading and math skills. Students are referred based on their needs to tutors after-school. After-school students receive homework help and participate ina 20 minute reading time. Students are offered enrichment clubs throughout the year. We have some barriers with building capacity in involving families in the CCLC program.
