Project Description

The school district with its co-applicant, Junction City Parks and Recreation Department continues to build upon existing community partnerships to provide expanded learning opportunities, at three sites, that contribute to academic improvement and reduced drug use and violence for 575 elementary students who all attend Title I schools. The academic component and many of the enrichment activities of the project are based upon the learning model known as Constructivism with emphasis on the Risk Focused Prevention model of Hawkins and Catalano, and upon the Developmental Assets model of the Search Institute.
