Technical Specialist

Development Office

The Technical Specialist position has its primary organization appointment in the Development Office with primary supervision by the manager of grant writing and proposal development. This exempt position's primary location is in the Naperville, Illinois, office of Learning Point Associates.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The technical specialist will participate in the development and delivery of grant proposal submissions with a special focus on assembling proposals, identifying grants, recording data, and generating reports. Responsibilities will include the following:

  1. Assisting with the development, assembly, and timely delivery of grant submissions and proposals to federal, state, district, and private organizations
  2. Aiding in searches for grant leads and creating weekly reports
  3. Using a variety of tools to create effective information-management systems relevant to the Development Office
  4. Coordinating, recording, and reporting on weekly development activity data
  5. Communicating and coordinating with all levels of internal staff
  6. Other duties, as assigned

Required Skills and Experience:

  1. Bachelor’s degree
  2. Experience in grant development preferred
  3. Strong client-service orientation
  4. Ability to work well both independently and as a member of a team
  5. Excellent written and oral communications skills
  6. Attention to detail
  7. Thorough knowledge of the Microsoft Suite of products, database software, and Internet usage required
  8. Demonstrated analytical skills
