Strategy: KWL Plus

Overview: To make sure that students retain the information learned during the KWL sessions, the KWL Plus strategy is used to extend the learning process.
Procedure: The students are asked to organize their new learnings by making a semantic map or a graphic organizer that would reflect the key information. They list the key categories and any facts underneath. Next, each student is asked to write an essay about what they have learned.
