Final Comprehensive Center Award Announced
The U.S. Department of Education's Office of Elementary and Secondary Education announced the final Comprehensive Center award on January 3, 2006. Learning Point Associates was awarded the five-year contract for the Great Lakes West Comprehensive Center, one of the 16 regional comprehensive centers helping to build the capacity of states across the nation to effectively implement the provisions and goals of the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act.
Great Lakes West, which serves Illinois and Wisconsin, will be working closely with other technical assistance providers, regional comprehensive centers, national content centers, and the regional educational laboratories to provide technical assistance and support to the state education agencies (SEAs) as they implement programs to close achievement gaps and ensure that all students achieve high academic standards.
Additionally, Learning Point Associates will manage the work of the Great Lakes East Comprehensive Assistance Center for Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio as well as oversee the work of the National Comprehensive Center for Teacher Quality on a national level.
