Learning Point Associates Staff

Linda Miller
Great Lakes West Linda Miller

Miller provides strategic leadership for the work in Illinois and Wisconsin. As the director of Great Lakes West, she identifies common themes in the work of the states and looks for opportunities for Wisconsin and Illinois to collaborate with other states and centers. Her extensive experience creating and managing professional development, providing technical assistance, and coordinating federally funded projects provides Great Lakes West with a solid technical assistance approach. Miller's ability to make strategic and powerful connections for Great Lakes West staff, state staff, and other technical assistance providers keeps Illinois and Wisconsin involved in relevant conversations regionally and nationally.

Ted Stilwill
Program Lead

Stilwill is the chief officer and program lead for Great Lakes West as well as the Great Lakes East Comprehensive Center. His experience of more than 15 years at the Iowa Department of Education and nearly 10 years as the state superintendent brings the perspective of the state education agency to Great Lakes West's work and planning.

Alfred Hovey
Wisconsin State Manager

Hovey leads the work of Great Lakes West's priority areas in Wisconsin. The ability of Great Lakes West to work collaboratively and effectively with Wisconsin is due to the depth and breadth of his more than 30 years of experience as an educator and expert in the state. His affiliation with national organizations brings a broad perspective to the state as the staff carries out the work.

Great Lakes West Comprehensive Center Program Staff

Anna Koelln-Brown
Senior Program Associate

Koelln-Brown provides support to Great Lakes West's work specifically in the areas of school improvement and response to intervention. She brings experience in school support as a former adequate yearly progress coordinator at the Minnesota Department of Education to the work of providing project leadership and support in Wisconsin. Koelln-Brown continues to expand the Great Lakes West network by identifying key stakeholders and partners to support the work.

Caroline Wentzel
Program Specialist

Wentzel supports the technical assistance work in both Illinois and Wisconsin through resource management, writing, and project support. She keeps Great Lakes West technical assistance and planning and reporting connected through her strong organization and management of resources.

Marie Husby-Slater
Program Associate

Husby-Slater supports communication and quality assurance needs for Great Lakes West's technical assistance in Illinois and Wisconsin. These responsibilities include serving as the managing editor of the Great Lakes West quarterly newsletter, Your ACCESS to the Region; overseeing website content development; and leading the national evaluation reporting.

Nick Pinchok
Senior Program Associate

Pinchok provides assessment expertise and team leadership to the state work in Illinois and Wisconsin. He brings a comprehensive understanding of assessment systems to Great Lakes West's work, from assessment development to district administration.

Rachel Trimble
Senior Program Associate

Trimble provides project leadership and support to technical assistance in Illinois. She brings expertise and support to the work of the states in the areas of statewide systems of support, standards, and school improvement through her experience as an educational consultant and field-based school improvement coach. In working with Illinois, Trimble has provided critical content expertise to the standards revision process and facilitated state workgroups.

Anne Egeland
Administrative Secretary

Egeland supports the Great Lakes West Comprehensive Center. She has extensive office experience and is knowledgeable in computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook, as well as many OpenSource programs. Egeland also has extensive experience managing databases, creating promotional materials, and performing general administrative tasks. She earned her associate's degree in business administration from Fox College in 2003.
