Where am I?
Learning Point Associates has been working with clients to improve afterschool services and enrich student learning for more than a decade. These descriptions represent just a handful of our current projects.
We conduct research to assess whether the interventions and measurements designed to improve program quality have an actual impact on student achievement and engagement in the afterschool program.
- The Impact of Coaching and Self-Assessment on Afterschool Program Quality
We are collaborating with the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction and Berkeley Policy Associates to assess the impact of a structured coaching intervention for afterschool staff on the quality of afterschool programs. (Client: William T. Grant Foundation)
We offer direct professional services, working with afterschool program directors, site coordinators and staff to design, implement and sustain effective and engaging programs.
- Chicago Community Schools Initiative
Since 2003, Learning Point Associates has been a trusted training and technical assistance partner in the Chicago Community Schools Initiative’s effort to provide expansive services to students and their families, particularly in schools located in high-poverty schools. - 21st Century Community Learning Centers in Illinois
Learning Point Associates is the primary trainer of 21st Century Community Learning Centers Program. (Client: Illinois State Board of Education)
We provide national leadership in policy work that creates greater access to and funding for afterschool programs that make the most of the time that students are not in school.
- Promising Afterschool Practices
We have received four continuous grants to advance the afterschool field’s knowledge of what works in afterschool programming—and, more importantly, why it works. (Client: Charles Stewart Mott Foundation)
- Assistance to the Afterschool Technical Assistance Collaborative
We are a key member of the Afterschool Technical Assistance Collaborative (ATAC), which is designed to create statewide afterschool networks. (Client: Charles Stewart Mott Foundation)
We conduct multimethod evaluations at the state and local levels to assess the quality and effectiveness of afterschool programs.
- 21st Century Community Learning Center in Texas (21st CCLC)
Learning Point Associates is conducting a statewide evaluation of 21st CCLC programs in Texas to evaluate the impact of program participation on student achievement and behavior. (Subcontractor to the Center for Research in Educational Policy at the University of Memphis)
