New Hampshire Extended Learning Opportunities Initiative

Client: PlusTime NH

Learning Point Associates has been hired to evaluate the Supporting Student Success Through Extended Learning Opportunities (ELOs) initiative in New Hampshire.

The initiative is a partnership of PlusTime NH, New Hampshire Department of Education, Concord Area Center for Education Support and QED and is funded primarily by the Nellie Mae Foundation. In the pilot for this statewide initiative, four schools will establish formal relationships with community partners and businesses to develop and implement ELOS that allow students to earn credit toward high school completion.

During the pilot year, Learning Point Associates will document the preliminary work at the state, district and school levels that went into launching this initiative. We also will evaluate the effectiveness of student recruitment strategies and the extent to which participating schools were able to develop a range of ELOs and rigorous assessment procedures as well as whether students were able to demonstrate subject-matter competency.
