Administrative Secretary, Teacher Quality

Evaluation & Policy Research Group

Learning Point Associates, an education not-for-profit organization founded as the North Central Regional Educational Laboratory (NCREL®) in 1984, seeks candidates for the position of Administrative Secretary. This position is primarily responsible for administrative support to the Teacher Quality Team in the Evaluation & Policy Research Group and will provide some assistance to the Senior Advisor to the CEO.

Learning Point Associates has a diverse funding base that includes federal contracts and grants, public and private contracts and grants, and the sale of products and services targeting the K–12 education market.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Administrative Secretary will be responsible for:

  1. Preparing and/or assisting in the preparation of purchase requisitions and travel arrangements.

  2. Assisting with coordinating logistics for internal and external meetings.

  3. Corresponding and communicating both orally and in written form with on-site and off-site program staff and with clients.

  4. Setting up files and mass mailings to constituents and providing follow-up.

  5. Providing support for program staff in the development of reports, proposals, and presentations.

  6. Assisting with database management and entry.

  7. Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Experience:

  1. Minimum of one year administrative support experience; experience in coordinating travel and meetings.

  2. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, e-mail, and the Web; familiarity with transcription and with database software is essential.

  3. Self-starter with excellent organization skills; deadline and detail oriented.

  4. Ability to work as member of a team as well as independently with minimal supervision.

  5. Ability to handle multiple projects at the same time.

  6. Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  7. Ability to handle confidential matters.

Organization Location and Reporting Line:

The position of Administrative Secretary has its primary organization appointment in the Evaluation & Policy Research Group reporting to the Director of the Teacher Quality Team at approximately 80 percent and reporting to the Senior Advisor to the CEO at 20 percent.

Salary and Benefits:

The position of Administrative Secretary is a nonexempt position within Learning Point Associates. Salary is competitive and commensurate with training and experience expected at this level of employment. Learning Point Associates offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health and retirement benefits. Learning Point Associates is an employment-at-will employer.
