Evaluation

Learning Point Associates collaborated with KPMG to create and interpret a citywide survey of parents, teachers, and middle and high school students in the New York City public schools. The survey collected information about academic expectations, communication, engagement, and safety.

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg heralded the surveys as “the most successful effort in the history of American education to collect a community’s views about public schools.” Survey results, released in September 2007, are stimulating serious discussion about the best way to improve New York City schools. Chancellor of Schools Joel Klein said, “I’ve personally learned from this survey, and my views have been affected. The opportunities here are enormous.”
